Leslie & Campbell were married on a beautiful sunny day at The Mountain Rose Inn in Greenfield, Massachusetts. They chose to get ready in separate rooms and did their first look in front of the stunning mountain view.

This was a local wedding for me, which is always nice. In my biased opinion, the Pioneer Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in Massachusetts. I actually photographed their rehearsal party the night before, so I got to meet some of the guests before the big day!

When I do first looks with lesbian couples, I have one of the brides stand in place first and then I lead the other bride over while she closes her eyes or looks at the ground.

Then, I put them back to back so they can turn around and see each other at the same time. It always makes for such sweet reactions. I love the moment right before they turn when they get a chance to hold hands and take a deep breath before the big reveal.

The first look was full of tears and it was a pretty hot day, so we took a short break afterwards to freshen up before the family and wedding party portraits

We finished the photos about half an hour before the ceremony. I usually take that time to shoot candids and the reception details before the guests arrive.

Before the end of photo coverage, we did one last set of night portraits under the ceremony tree!
